DirectX ist eine Bezeichnung der Spiele und Audioschnittstelle für Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Programme. Bei den Vollversionen von Spielen sind die DirectX Komponenten meistens enthalten, bei älteren Spielen muss es sich aber nicht unbedingt um die aktuelle Version handeln.
Die vorliegende Version 9 der Multimedia-Schnittstelle DirectX bietet laut Angaben von Microsoft gegenüber der Vorgängerversion 8.x eine noch bessere Performance sowie die Unterstützung neuester Technologien und Chipsätze.

Mit der Software Logox WebSpeech, die zum kostenlosen Download für Sie bereitliegt, können Sie Ihren Browser sprechen und sich beliebige Texte vorlesen lassen. Bei dem Programm Logox WebSpeech handelt es sich um ein Plugin für die Browser Netscape Communicator und Internet Explorer. Mit Logox WebSpeech können Sie die Internetangebote hören, die mit dem Logox WebSpeech SDK für die Sprachausgabe vorbereitet wurden. Zusätzlich ist in dem Plugin der Logox WebSpeech Reader enthalten. Mit dem Internet Explorer (ab Version 4) können Sie sich dann beliebige Texte aus Internetseiten vorlesen lassen.
Durch das Internet-Update ist man mit seiner Software immer auf dem neuesten Stand. Softwareentwickler können es in ihr Projekt einbauen. Das bringt den Vorteil, dass der Anwender von der entwickelten Software direkt aus dem Internet auf die neue Version updaten kann.
Das Programm ist nur rund 200 Kilobyte groß, bedarf allerdings der Visual Basic 6 Runtime Treiber. Auf Wunsch kann zusammen mit dem Programmierer (dj-n@intergenies.de) das Update noch verbessert werden.
Einschränkung
Man kann das Programm kostenlos kopieren, in die Projekte einbauen. Allerdings muss beim kommerziellen Vertrieb erst mit dem Programmierer, eine Vereinbarung getroffen werden.

DF SDK is a Software development kit which provides an effective approach of creating patch and update modules, and integrating of the patch applying and/or building process directly into you own software product(s). Unlike other available products, DF SDK does not simply create incremental updates, but analyzes files at the byte level and builds the difference for updating the target file on the end-user's system.
Using DF SDK you can effectively accomplish the following tasks:
- Software updating/patching to ensure your end-users always have the latest version of your software product;
- Differential data backup for effective backup data storage in a reliable yet space-saving way;
- Version control for reliable yet efficient control under versions of your files (of any type).
